Event Description

The 15th WOC Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics Conference and Apollo Junior High invite robotics teams to the 2010 WOC VEX Round Up Invitational. This is a perfect opportunity for teams to get practice on this year's amazing game early in the year.

The event is also the perfect opportunity for families to attend an exciting, fun, and free educational event that will engage and inspire kids. The competition motivates impressionable young minds to enhance their skills in the critical STEM disciplines (science, technology, engineering and math) through the construction, development, programming, and operation of VEX robots.

The 2010 WOC VEX Round Up Invitational is only one of many activities taking place October 28-30, 2010, at the Dallas Sheraton Hotel as part of the 15th Women of Color STEM Conference, www.womenofcolor.net. For more than 14 years, this multi-cultural event for men and women has been the conference of choice for the recognition of the significant accomplishments of minority women in the digital world, and it attracts talented people who serve in innovative, professional, and technical positions.

A high-level meeting of minority women in information technology, computer science, information science, bioinformatics and digital arts; the Women of Color STEM conference (WOC) is the place to connect with the key issues in corporate diversity, the critical shortage of women in IT careers, technological innovation, and women-owned IT ventures.

The Conference, with its widely praised awards, supports and recognizes minority women in technology careers. It connects them with mentors and employers capable of jump-starting—or restarting--their careers. College students also attend, to meet the winners and to learn how to take the next critical steps to forging careers of their own.
