Pricing Information

Location: the workshop is in the Casey Building and the room is Casey 500EC: Casey Commons. It is on the 5th floor and to the left as you exit the elevator. Here is a campus map and it also shows the various places you could park: http://www.seattleu.edu/maps/

Food: DO NOT bring your own food onto campus -- it is against the rules. The cafeteria will be open, and there are plenty of restaurants in the area.

On Saturdays, all-day parking is $8 in the visitor parking lot at 12th and Marion.

Visitor Parking is available at the 12th Ave & E. Marion parking lot. Seattle University staff can contact the Campus Public Safety office at ext. 5995 for more information.

Event Description

This is a workshop hosted by Seattle University College of Science and Engineering and the Washington VRC and TSA communities. Come and see the new Gateway field, learn something about building competition VEX robots, and brainstorm ideas for Gateway. Bring your VEX parts, some team members and Gateway robots! TSA/VEX teams are more than welcome.

Some topics:
1) Discussing what to expect, how to get started, and design discussions with veteran VRC robot builders
2) Building techniques
3) Programming
4) Running practice matches
5) Discussing how alliance selection works and how your play in qualifying matches affects your ranking
6) Game brainstorming and strategy discussion
