Event Description
We're pleased to announce the second annual Arizona VEX Robotics Competition to be held at New Walden Grove High School January 14, 2010. The Excellence Award winning teams from this event will qualify for the VEX Robotics World Championship in April 2012 and Tournament Winners will qualify for the CREATE Foundation Championship of the Americas in Omaha in March 2012. We can't wait to see all the schools from Arizona and surrounding states in January - it should be a great competition!

Award Winner Description
Excellence Award 52C - Sahuarita Mustangs III
The winner of this award is an experienced team and a
strong competitor. They executed their scoring strategy of
placing scoring objects in multiple goals and using the
doubler barrel consistently. They had an exceptionally
strong engineering journal and design process.

Design Award 52 - Sahuarita Mustangs IV
The winner of this award is a top scoring team that
displaying exceptional teamwork and devolved a very
professional design notebook. The design notebook was
regularly updated and highlighted the robot’s design
development. Additionally, during their interview the team
exhibited a large level of system knowledge, overall a well
round team.
Innovate Award 2114A - Team Automata
The winner of this award is a strong competitor who worked
well with alliance teams. The chase design allowed the robot
to move front and back as well as side to side. It can reach
and score in all goals. It made use of the autonomous mode
in all four area of the playing field
Judges' Award 1471A - Fountain Hills Falcons
The winner of this judges award design a robot that can hold
up to four objects simultaneously and directly contributed to
the winning alliance. They continuously demonstrated the
ability to score in the opponent’s isolation goal. Additionally,
they set out a clear strategy and demonstrated it in the field.
Judges' Award 52B - Sahuarita Mustangs III
The winner of this judge award is a team that overcame
obstacles with a positive attitude. They demonstrated how to
turn adversity onto triumph. The learned a lot during the
process and by stepping out of their comfort zone they were
able to rise to the challenge.
