Event Description
The BCPSS Summer STEM Academy Championship is the culminating activity for an intense six-week Summer STEM Academy. Students study traditional academic topics in the morning and learn about robots in the afternoon. The competition is an opportunity for Summer STEM Academy participants to demonstrate what they learned. Approximately 200 teams from middle schools all over Baltimore City will be gathering together for their first robotics competition.
Two divisions will compete on Wednesday, August 4, with the playoffs on Thursday, August 5. The divisional winners will come together to compete for the championship. The winners also win free registration to the BEYA Vex Robotics Competition in Washington DC.
Conveniently located at the Timonium Light Rail Stop, the BCPSS Summer Vex Robotics Competition is open to the public and free of charge. Participation in the event is limited to teams from the Summer STEM Academy, but all spectators are welcome. Come see Baltimore's next generation of scientists and engineers.
