Event Description
Updated on Monday, February 8, 2010
Teams will receive an email late on Monday, February 8, 2010 with complete competition information.
The 24th BEYA Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics Global Competitiveness Conference invites middle school robotics teams to the 2010 BEYA STEM VEX Robotics Championships. Enroll and watch as the brightest, young minds push their robots to their limits. Come out and see whether last year’s champion, the Bluford Drew Jemison STEM Academy, is able to defend their title.
The event is the perfect opportunity for families to attend an exciting, fun, and free educational event that will engage and inspire kids. The competition motivates impressionable young minds to enhance their skills in the critical STEM disciplines (science, technology, engineering and math) through the construction, development, programming, and operation of VEX robots.
The 2nd Annual BEYA VEX Robotics Championship is only one of many activities taking place February 18-20, 2010, at Baltimore’s Convention Center as part of the upcoming BEYA Conference (www.beya.org). The BEYA STEM Global Competitiveness Conference has attracted top professionals and students from every part of the nation and every field of science, engineering, and technology and has become a destination for students, professionals and families.
Throughout the conference, our seminars and workshops will offer new information on a variety of topics affecting technology professionals such as career advancement, diversity programs and specialized industry updates. The Career Fair will link qualified engineers, scientists, business professionals and students with employers both regional and national.
Completing the three-day event, the BEYA Awards Ceremony will recognize the achievement of African-American leaders.
Simply put, the BEYA STEM Global Competitiveness Conference is about opportunities to acquire and retain talent, to learn and network among the best and brightest minds in the country.
