Event Description
Welcome to the BEYA Conference VEX Robotics College Challenge.
The 2011 BEYA VEX College Challenge is only one of many activities taking place February 18-20, 2011, at the Washington Marriott Wardman Park as part of the 25th BEYA STEM Global Competitiveness Conference, www.beya.org. For more than 24 years, this multi-cultural event for men and women has been the conference of choice for the recognition of the significant accomplishments of minorities in the digital world, and it attracts talented people who serve in innovative, professional, and technical positions.
All competitors will also have an opportunity to take advantage of the Development Institute for Emerging Leaders (DIEL) program and the largest science and technology career fair on the east coast, which are both part of the 25th BEYA STEM Conference. DIEL is an integral part of the 25th BEYA Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics Conference and seeks to provide science and technology students with the rare opportunity to forge valuable relationships with professionals who can teach them how to successfully pursue a STEM career.
Highlights of this year’s DIEL program include an expanded, free science and technology career fair; a VEX Robotics college-level competition, a student research presentation session and endless opportunities to network with STEM leaders during the receptions, seminars and celebratory events.
BEYA Science & Technology Career Fair
Competitors will have the opportunity to join the ranks of high-level recruitment officers, human resources directors, and professionals from a wide variety of organizations to discuss career opportunities. These professionals are eager to review your resume, speak with you, and in some cases, interview you on the spot. Meet face-to-face with representatives from Chrysler, IBM, Corning, Booz Allen Hamilton, BAE, Lockheed Martin Corporation, Raytheon, US Army, The Boeing Company, Exelon and many more.
