Event Description
The Pacific Youth Robotics Society (PYRS) is please to announce that the VEX BC Season Opener will again be held at Cambie High School on December 10th, 2011.
Teams from across BC and Washington State are expected to attend. Teams from other jurisdictions are also welcome.
A wide spectrum of skill levels will be present. Several World Championship teams are returning, intent on repeating last year's success. They will be joined by innovative up and coming teams looking to establish themselves. But, with the rapid growth of competitive robotics in our jurisdiction, there will also be large numbers of novice teams, many of whom will be attending their first tournament. Regardless of skill level, the PYRS team will be working to make the competition an enjoyable and positive experience for all participants.
This event will qualify up to 5 teams to the 2012 VRC World Championship in Anaheim California, April 18-21st.
Both Skills Challenges will be accomodated on a dedicated field.
In addition to the awards listed, technical evaluators will also be adjudicating an iDesign sponsored award for the best use of interactive graphic design in support of robot development.
