Event Description
Nova VRC Regional
The Potomac Vex League (PVL) uses the VEX Robotics Competition successful game rules and tournament formats to offer an inexpensive full-season of Robotics tournaments to Maryland, Virginia and DC students. PVL events are open to all student groups ready for a day of gracious and polite competition and excitement. The typical "teams" at a PVL tournament are an eclectic mixture of students from local robotics clubs, registered FIRST teams, VEX Robotics Competition Teams and robotics classes. Also, many VEX Robotics Competition teams can use PVL events to sharpen their driving and pit skills, to give their team structure a shake-down test, and to evaluate game strategies and robot designs. Teams area allowed to enter more than one robot into any single competition; and the fees for each event are kept very low so that any group with a Vex Squarebot or a one-night wonder, and an itch to see if they have the right stuff, can use the PVL to give robotics tournaments an easy test drive. This PVL event will qualify its finalists and champions to the VEX Robotics Championship of the Americas by the CREATE Foundation. The event champions will be qualified for the VEX Robotics World Championship Event.
Centrally located between Richmond, Baltimore, the Shenandoah Valley and the Chesapeake Bay; Osbourn Park High School, in cooperation with Virginia 4-H, Lockheed Martin, Triangle Fraternity, and the Potomac Robotics League is proudly hosting the 1st Annual Nova VRC Regional Tournament!
